David Harris Reporting for The Orlando Sentinel
“A 22-year-old Arizona man was arrested Monday after he told guests at a Disney resort there was an active shooter so he could record their reactions and post it to YouTube, according to an arrest affidavit.
Dillion Burch was “highly intoxicated” and running up to guests at Disney's Contemporary Resort and telling them they had to evacuate because of the shooter shortly after midnight, the affidavit said.
Burch then told the people he was joking and wanted to see what their reactions were for a school project, according to the affidavit.”
Thankfully there wasn’t actually a shooter so nobody was hurt, but given the current climate, what in the hell would compel someone to do this? The school excuse is clearly bullshit, which leads me to believe that he did this because he thought it would be funny. That’s what really scares me about this. A punk thought it would be funny to terrify the public. Logan Paul made an embarrassing amount of money by being an asshole on YouTube, so it wouldn’t surprise me if this guy is a fan.
Oh and there are a lot of headlines going around calling him a “youtuber”. Don’t give him any credit. He may have a gmail account, but this guy is as much a YouTube personality as Donald Trump is our President.
